1 New Hospitalization, 87 New Cases

Press release from Humboldt County Public Health:

Humboldt County Public Health reported today one new hospitalization, a resident in their 70s. No new deaths were reported.

An additional 41 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 were announced as well as 46 new probable cases for the period between Tuesday, Nov. 8 and Tuesday, Nov. 15. The total number of confirmed cases in the county stands at 22,431. An additional 5,414 cases are reported as probable.*

According to Public Health, as the community prepares for holiday family get-togethers, now is a great time to get a bivalent booster. The new bivalents reduce the likelihood of becoming infected with the Omicron variants and also reduce the chances of hospitalization and death should one become infected.

The bivalent boosters are available to anyone aged 5 years and older and provided at all Public Health clinics throughout the county. Appointments for childhood vaccinations are required and can be made at MyTurn.ca.gov. All bivalent boosters are single-dose and include components of the original virus strain and the Omicron subvariants. People can receive the updated booster regardless of previous booster doses received.

It’s also a very good time to get this year’s flu vaccine, which can be administered along with COVID-19 vaccines. Flu cases have surged in recent weeks. Anyone 6 months and older can get the flu vaccine and it’s updated for this season’s strains. Most local pharmacies are offering both COVID boosters and flu vaccines.

Local COVID-19 vaccination data has been updated:

  • Since the last weekly report on Nov. 9, an additional 78 residents completed their vaccine series.
  • A total of 92,270 individuals, or approximately 68% of the county’s total population, have been fully vaccinated as of Tuesday.

OptumServe offers rapid antigen testing and PCR testing services at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka five days a week. Walk-ins will receive only rapid antigen testing unless the attendee specifically states they require a PCR test. Appointments for antigen testing can be made by calling 888-634-1123. Wharfinger testing runs Sunday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is closed from 11 a.m. to noon and 4 to 5 p.m. Additional testing locations and schedules are available at humboldtgov.org/2787/Test-Registration.

See the schedule below for specific Public Health vaccination and testing clinic dates, times, locations and available services. Please note that some regularly scheduled clinics are canceled during Thanksgiving week.

Arcata — Thursday, Nov. 17, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
D Street Neighborhood Center (1301 D St.)

Trinidad — Thursday, Nov. 17, 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Trinidad Town Hall (409 Trinity St.)

Eureka — Friday, Nov. 18, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wharfinger Building (1 Marina Way)

Eureka — Saturday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
College of the Redwoods (7351 Tompkins Hill Road)

Willow Creek — Tuesday, Nov. 22, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Willow Creek Public Health (77 Walnut Way)

* “Confirmed cases” represent the total confirmed positive PCR test results or detection of SARS-CoV-2 by genomic sequencing, and “probable cases” are individuals who:

  • Have a positive antigen (Ag) test for COVID-19, or
  • Were diagnosed with COVID-19 disease by a health care provider, or
  • Have symptoms of COVID-19 disease after being in close contact with a person having a PCR-confirmed test result, or
  • Were a decedent whose death certificate lists COVID-19 as a cause or significant contributing factor of their death, in the absence of a positive PCR test result.

No deaths reported since October 19. That’s a good sign..
But if at risk follow Public Health advise..
If not at risk be respectful of those that are..

What’s really going to be funny is when Trump and DeSantis debate.

They both think alike, so when Trump says something DeSantis will come back with “what he said”

But Greene are Boebert are also possibilities.

He had a meme up which I replied to the second half of the quote in my prior comment. It read: “If a bureaucrat makes a mistake, you suffer the consequences .”

I’m not kidding it said that and it makes sense if you DONT support the constant propaganda releases warning of covid/flu/RSV etc.

I suspect he took it down because it runs counter to his usual position.

1 hospitalization and 87 cases…

Oh Shit!

It’s the surge!!!

The winter wave!!!

Kowabunga!!!?

Better rush out and get the untested booster…

Because it works 5 times less well against the emerging variants BQ.1 and BQ. 1.1 than it does compared to BA.5. !!!

And since when are we counting cases again…???

Since there was only one hospitalization?

Did we have no cases last week, or were we not even counting?

“The new COVID-19 boosters were authorized before being tested on humans, but experts say that they are still safe.”

Where are you going to actually find a TESTED Bivalent BA 4/5 Booster???

(Not a preprint, mmkay…???)

It was on only mice. Months ago they said we have to give it to kids first and then we’ll find out.
There was no testing on taking a flu shot and a covid shot at the same time. Basically it’s malpractice to offer this without testing. Now they are calling it a flu vaccine. It’s never been called that, till now.
Also, I wonder what has been done different in the past few years to cause this change in rsv? No one seems to know, or either they don’t want to know.
Did anyone notice there is no data in this release, like all the past releases about the difference between vaccinated and nonvaccinated?

Russia or Ukraine tried to start WW3 with the West by firing a missile at two farmers in Poland?

UKRAINE’S President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had “no doubt” the missile that hit Poland yesterday WAS Russian – despite counterclaims by NATO and the US.

President Zelensky said he was certain “it was not our missile” that struck and killed two people on a farm four miles from the Ukrainian border.

Dear any/y’all more rightward readers of above slippery drivel:
Ukraine who has some Russky missiles (fact), Ukraine fired this one (fact), at other incoming Russky missiles (fact), both missles made in Russkyville (fact). This info has been out all day.
Bottom-bottom line: at start of Russian invasion the Trumplicans aligned themselves with Putin, some online hangers-on still amongst us in the USA and (long) after most Americans saw thru their smokescreen.

House Reps hold news conference this morning declaring investigating Biden family is national security issue not simply about Joe Biden’s lies to America. Foreign influence peddling is illegal and attempts to coverup the crimes through compromised Biden policy payola is a detriment to all Americans. The investigation isn’t targeted at Hunter Biden but instead the crimes of Joe Biden and the election interference of 51 US intelligence officers and their media/tech conspirators that installed our illegitimate President Biden. Let’s hope all patriotic Americans welcome truth and transparency. The truth will set you free!

Um, enough of them self-identified in the midterm election. See: loss of trump-picked candidates.

Getting back to upcoming investigations, let’s consider Freedom Caucus founder, maga darling Rep Jim Jordan (R-trumplican). He’s the new Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Here’s Liz Cheney (R-conservative) in her own words:

“I was in the (Capitol) aisle, on the aisle and he [Jim Jordan] came over to me, you know, and basically said, we need to get the ladies away from the aisle.”

“Get away from me” she said “you fucking did this”.

Jim Jordan — one of Trumps’s sedition-supporters, running away, but looking to assist ‘the ladies’ from getting clobbered by … his own mob.
And now he’s a man in charge of … investigations. Snort! Go for it, Jimbo, start all sorts of investigations (on anybody but you) and reap the rewards (not) at ballot box ‘24. Gonna be Wild.

And….. There’s FTX

Bankman-Fried’s Washington campaign was bolstered by his emergence as a political megadonor. He contributed more than $40 million to Democratic candidates and a network of super PACs that promoted crypto and public health policies.
But even Bankman-Fried’s political aspirations proved wobbly in recent weeks. He angered progressive Democrats in October when he walked back plans to spend $1 billion on races through 2024, saying in a POLITICO interview that his pledge was a “dumb quote on my part” and that he didn’t believe additional contributions would make an impact.
Bankman-Fried is now facing intense scrutiny from regulators and lawmakers, after his firms triggered a market-wide crypto crash that’s also being felt on Wall Street.

Delegates who arrive at Egypt’s beachside resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh to discuss ways to mitigate the “climate crisis” are able to enjoy COPGourmet’s $100 Angus beef medallion which is served with mushroom sauce and sauteed potatoes, according to screenshots obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. However, the UN aims to “minimize emissions per calorie” and to reduce meat consumption in order to prevent the planet from overheating, according to a COP27 food security document.
“The menu on offer is yet another example of the staggering disconnect between so-called leaders and the people they represent,” Nathan McGovern, a spokesperson for the animal and climate activist group Animal Rebellion, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It is hypocritical for delegates at COP27 to be dining on the destruction of our natural world, whilst simultaneously claiming to be trying to protect it.”

you have to get the new booster shot so that the next new one will be more effective, and then you have to get the next booster after that so the second one is more effective. Then there’s a new booster you have to get to make that last one more effective in making the previous more effective. Make sure that you get the newest vaccine, it’s essential because this one makes the previous ones more effective and protects you against a possible new covid strain.
