No impairment, but stupidity. Drove through flare set-up?
Blind in one eye & can’t see outta the other!!!
Downside to rubbernecking, quit rubbernecking and drive!
Yeah, and the CHP had amber rear warning lights on. Stupidity? This driver is an insult to a fence post. Maybe a crash dummy made a break for it. Good Twilight Zone plot.
So what happened with the third car that was down the cliff?
From listening to the scanner, I’m pretty sure a motorhome was pulling a vehicle on a trailer. Somehow the vehicle detached from the trailer and went over the edge of the cliff. The CHP officer was at the scene attempting to deal with that incident when his vehicle was hit from behind.
F-250 driver must be a relative of the person that rear ended the tractor a few days ago. ?♂️
Don’t Look Up !

Well now the chp has a compact maybe it will save them some fuel
Crumples like a tin can… maybe make the cars a bit safer?
They’re engineered to crumple like that, it’s called a crumple zone. It’s built into both the front and rear of all modern cars and is designed to absorb the impact upon a collision – kind of like how a spring works. See how the rear passenger compartment is mostly intact and everything behind it is smashed? If the car was more rigid like they were back in day then all the energy would be transferred to the occupants resulting in more injuries.
Correct Unless your in the third row ?
Safer means less fuel economy. Don’t you want to save the planet?
