Tiffany Hunt Nielsen, one of the three candidates vying for the position of Humboldt County Clerk/Recorder and Registrar of Voters this coming election–Juan Pablo Cervantes (click for his press release here) and Benjamin Hershberger (no press release at this time) are also running–will announce her candidacy on the steps of the County Courthouse tomorrow. (See below for her press release.)
The County Clerk/Registrar does everything from maintaining minutes from the Board of County Commissioners to keeping vital records to managing elections. This important position deserves more attention than it usually gets during a typical election cycle.
Press release from Tiffany Hunt Nielsen:
Tiffany Hunt Nielsen is announcing her candidacy for Humboldt County Clerk / Recorder and Registrar of Voters on Wednesday March 16th, 2022 at 12:15 pm on the steps of the County Courthouse on 5th Street, Eureka.

So which of the three candidates is the Trumpist revolutionary bent on prosecuting the ‘big lie’?
I am wondering the same! VOTERS BEWARE!!
Title Officer at “a local Title Company”? But it does not identify which title company?! That’s odd and not much of a resume’…it makes me wonder why she wouldn’t say which title company. And I can’t help it that suspicion creeps in….She is applying for a position that holds a lot of responsibility and certainly needs open communication and honesty that we can all trust. So…why not name the title company?
She was with Humboldt Title for years. Then left to take a position in the Clerk’s office. This is not “hidden” information but is on her campaign’s website.
And looking at the press release it’s there too.
Umm…it’s not there- she might want to add it in! Thanks for filling it in. I’ve only had good experiences with Humboldt Land Title and I’ve probably met her there. That office was always professional and thorough. It speaks well of her that she worked there for so many years…unless anybody knows otherwise
because it’s Humboldt Land and Title. I had experience with a title officer there that removed a contractor’s invoice from an escrow acct. so they could distribute it and then lie about doing it. The contractor eventually got paid, but it took threats of litigation and reporting how they violated the law. The fact that Gary Boughton went there after the city of eureka is enough for me to use Fidelity for the remainder of my life. Both of her last names say everything i need to know, which is good ol boy.
Um, Fidelity bought Humboldt Land Title, so. . .And, just because Ms. Nielsen-Hunt’s name is what it is does not mean she is a “good ol boy.” I’ve worked with Tiffany, both while she was at Humboldt Land and the Recorder’s office. She has been nothing but courteous, efficient, knowledgeable, and ethical.
