Spot Fire Northwest of Junction City

Trinity County Sheriffs Office TCSOTrinity County Sheriff Tim Saxon confirmed a spot from the Monument Fire in the area of Hocker Meadow Road northwest of Junction City.  Social media reports the spot was found about two miles from the town about 9 p.m. and was “over 100 yards wide.”

The Sheriff emailed us saying, “I’m told ground crews picked up that spot fire. We are evaluating the status of the area and may be upgrading to evacuation order tomorrow based on fire behavior. As always, people can leave the area now if they feel uncomfortable instead of waiting for an evacuation order. Please be safe and watch for firefighters in the area.”

I’ll agree. The sheriff is doing a good job with the resources he has. Way way way better than the last sheriff who up and left the county leaving no one effectively in charge (I won’t count the unnamed staff who was calling the shots).

You give better info than the fire folks right now… To many chiefs ,not enough indians put locals to work that know this area… Would help .
