One Person Reported to Have a Gunshot Wound Near Island Mountain Road
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office tweeted just before noon that
Sheriff’s deputies are conducting an investigation on Bell Springs Road near Island Mountain Road after receiving reports of one person with a gunshot wound. Information is limited at this time and more will be released when available and appropriate.

Yes, family would need to be notified before the Sheriff’s Office releases names.

Horrible! He was a well loved man. He would never wrong anybody. Absolutely no excuse here! Prayers for the family.

I am devastated! So crushed to hear of an old friend and rancher that has been on the ranch all his life. That ranch was settled in the early days of the real pioneers that worked the land and cared about the earth. I had to leave Humboldt Co. because of all the destruction to a peaceful way of life . My love to the family and friends.
