Fire Units Responding to Carlotta Vegetation Fire

Fire units from the Carlotta and Fortuna Fire Departments are responding to a vegetation fire located near the 200 block of Barber Shop Lane.

[UPDATE 9:26 PM]:  Fire on scene have identified fire scene as “Barber IC.”  The fire is reported to be 50X50 feet and going up into the timber, with the added addition of power lines in the immediate area.

[UPDATE 9:31 PM]:  Updated to quarter of an acre, heading into the trees, backed up to forestry land.  Fire personnel on scene are attempting to cut a line around the fire.

[UPDATE 9:56 PM]:  Fire units are reporting the fire to be a large spot with heavy fuel, however forward progress has been stopped.  They are requesting one hand crew.

[UPDATE 10:41 PM]:  Fire crews remain on scene however one water tender has been released.
