Humboldt County Hammond Trail Construction Notice: Portion of Hammond Trail Closed, Repair Work

Press release from the County of Humboldt:

The Humboldt Country Department of Public Works is preparing to repair damaged pavement and slope failure on the Hammond Trail in McKinleyville.

The Hammond Trail will be closed between Murray Road and Knox Cove Avenue from Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24, weather permitting.

This portion of the Hammond Trail will remain closed for the safety of the public until these repairs are completed. Trail users can travel on Kelly Avenue as a temporary route to bypass the construction work. Other portions of the Hammond Trail not affected by construction will remain open.

Repair work will involve sinkhole repairs, embankment stabilization, and repaving.
