Trinity County Launches Mailer Promoting ReadyTrinity Emergency Alerts

Seal of Trinity CountyPress release from Trinity County:

Trinity County residents should keep an eye on their post office boxes this week as the Trinity County Office of Emergency Services (OES) begins delivering a new countywide mailer encouraging residents and visitors to register for the ReadyTrinity emergency alert system.

The informational mail piece highlights the importance of receiving official alerts directly from emergency officials during fast-moving incidents such as wildfires, floods, or other public safety emergencies. The ReadyTrinity system provides timely notifications about threats to life and property, including evacuation orders, severe weather warnings, and other urgent updates.

Seconds matter during an emergency. Our goal is to ensure every resident and visitor in Trinity County receives critical information as quickly as possible. Registering for ReadyTrinity is one of the most important steps people can take to stay informed and protect themselves and their families.

The mailer emphasizes that emergencies can escalate rapidly and encourages residents not to rely solely on word of mouth or social media for important safety information. Instead, the ReadyTrinity system sends precise, geo-targeted alerts directly to phones, emails, or landlines so individuals receive accurate information when it matters most.

Residents who sign up can choose how they receive alerts—including text messages, voice calls, or email—and can register multiple addresses such as home, work, or family member locations.

The Trinity County Office of Emergency Services is continuing to expand outreach efforts to ensure that as many people as possible are registered in the system before the next emergency occurs.

Whether you live here year-round or are visiting Trinity County, we strongly encourage you to register. It’s free, it only takes a few minutes, and it could save lives.

How to Register

  • Residents and visitors can sign up today by visiting: www.readytrinity.org
  • From there, click the “Sign Up” button and enter your contact information and the locations you would like to monitor.

Sounds great. Unfortunately, its BS. Landlines in TC are frequently questionable. The is a stretch along the 299 corridor, about 40 miles long, that has no cell phone service. How are visitors going to get the notice? What about residents? Without cellphone access email notifications are not very useful, unless you are constantly monitoring your email on computer.

Mayby TC could start by lobbying for cell phone service along this stretch.
