Arcata Honored Firefighters and First Responders With Noon Parade Around the Plaza Yesterday
Everybody loves a parade and Arcata citizens turned out in large numbers to enjoy the sunshine and honor their first responders yesterday. [Video by Ryan Hutson]
A parade honoring the first responders who worked the devastating January 2 fire in Arcata rolled through downtown at noon Sunday, drawing a large crowd to the Arcata Plaza.

It makes my heart feel good to see these first responders and firefighters honored in this way. Wonderful pictures of all of them. It is pretty easy for us to forget what these men and women go through when they are called into service. They risk their lives to save ours. May God bless and keep them safe.
I know a guy who was a firefighter for 30 years and said that the “Oh
Shit!” fires were hardware stores.
He sure got that right. 30 years as a firefighter is amazing. I bet he was a wonderful person.
