Motorcycle and Car Collide Near Fortuna Main Street Onramp
A motorcycle and a car were involved in a traffic collision around midday near the Main Street onramp to northbound U.S. Highway 101, according to scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.
The collision was reported at about 12:56 p.m. on the overpass at the Main Street onramp. Scanner traffic indicated the motorcycle was initially in the roadway, and responders worked to move it to the shoulder. The motorcycle was described as a fully dressed Harley.
CHP logs show that a brief traffic break was put in place on northbound U.S. 101 while units assisted the rider and worked to clear the roadway. By about 12:57 p.m., the rider was reported to be up and standing with the motorcycle. Medical response was requested as a precaution, and the incident was later reported as appearing to involve no injuries.
According to CHP, the roadway was cleared shortly after, and traffic resumed.

Glad there were no injuries, Figures it was a Hardly ableson 😉
Be careful. That area is a clusterfk, and needs a rework. It’s best to be in the fast lane to avoid traffic entering 101.
There is a BIG yellow sign directing drivers to do just that … Obviously no one ever reads it 🙃
I read it and move left every time. I also drive the speed limit and use my blinker. People make fun of me.
Those are the idiots that don’t know any better or could care less. When they finally get in an accident maybe their blinkers will be used, all four.
C’mon you’re talking about Fortuna where reading is considered Woke sh@t
Rude
Isn’t this the on-ramp that you are supposed to move over to the fast lane before you get to it? There’s a large sign that states, Thru traffic merge left for incoming traffic on the onramp. Rarely do people move over. And then there’s the idiots in the fast lane that get mad if people move over. But they have to move. There’s already been accidents there. I called CalTrans years ago and simply asked them to put a flashing light on the sign, because people aren’t seeing it, or maybe they just don’t care? They never did.
Probably Wouldn’t help, they would still have to look up from their phones to see it
It’s amazing how many people don’t read that sign, but that and the Riverwalk/12th St on-ramps are dangerously blind for merging traffic. Let’s all try to make it home safely and give room for others to get on the road!
As soon as I clear the 12th Street overpass, I always look to my right to see if there’s anyone in the on-ramp coming onto the freeway there. If I can, I always move over to the Number 1 lane to allow them to merge safely to the freeway. I do the same as I approach the Main Street on-ramp and depending on traffic, I sometimes move over long before I get close to merging vehicles.

Signs
Phones
Etc
So much of our traffic malaise would be cured if people didn’t drive like they have an angel that can fly faster than the speed of light . .
Was there, it was actually right before the on-ramp.
