Major roadwork scheduled Friday, January 2 through Thursday, January 8

The following scheduled roadwork has been verified at the time of release. Please keep in mind work is weather permitting and subject to change. Caltrans will suspend most work on Northern California highways from Wednesday, Dec. 31, through Thursday, Jan. 1, in observance of the New Years holiday. However, in the case of unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary for Caltrans crews to respond to emergency situations.
Del Norte County
- U.S. 101 (35.8/36.5) – Utility work from Klamath Beach Road to the Humboldt County line will begin on Monday, January 5. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C101XC
- U.S. 101 (35.8/36.5) – The Dr. Fine Bridge Replacement Project is scheduled in the Smith River area weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Travelers should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C101WA
- Route 197 (4.5) – Utility work near Ruby Van Deventer County Park from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect and travelers should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C197AA
Humboldt County
- Route 36 (4.1/4.6) – Construction upgrades near Carlotta are scheduled to continue. Expect 15-minute delays weekdays. LC#C36IA
- Route 36 (15.7/16.3) – Slide response west of Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park will continue. One-way traffic control will continue with delays of up to 15 minutes. Check Caltrans District 1 on social media for updates. LC#T36HA
- Route 36 (19.6) – Emergency work west of Maple Grove will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Travelers should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C36JA
- Route 36 (25.3/34.5) – Bridge work is scheduled between Little Larabee Creek Bridge and Butte Creek Bridge 4-116. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA
- Route 36 (34.5) – Bridge work at Butte Creek Bridge 4-116 has scheduled one-way traffic control. Expect 5-minute delays. LC#C36UA
- Route 96 (3.2/16.3) – Utility work at various locations from north of Willow Creek to north of Hoopa will begin on Monday, January 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C96BA
- Route 96 (38.2) – Utility work will occur at Orleans Elementary School on Thursday, January 8. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#P96AA
- U.S. 101 (82.7) – Work is scheduled north of Eureka near the Indianola Cutoff. Access to southbound 101 from Indianola Cutoff remains closed. Use an alternate route and expect minor traffic slowdowns. LC#C101FD
- U.S. 101 (126.1/128.9) – Utility work from the Boyes Creek Bridge 4-286 to the Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway will begin on Monday, January 5. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and travelers should expect up to 5-minute delays LC#C101XC
- Route 169 (25.8/30.2) – Utility work at Coon Creek Bridge 4-219 and Martins Ferry will begin on Monday, January 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 pm. Expect delays of up to 15 minutes. LC#C169CA
- Route 254 (18.8) – Slide removal work is ongoing just north of Weott. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C254AA
- Route 283 (0.3) – Utility work at the Eagle Prairie Bridge 4-15 in Rio Dell will begin on Monday, January 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Travelers should expect 5 minute delays. LC#P283AA
- Route 299 (22.4/24.6) – Utility work from the Redwood Creek Bridge 4-42 to Chezem Road is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and travelers should expect 10-minute delays. LC#P299BA
Lake County
- Route 20 (4.7/5.5) – Utility work will occur west of Upper Lake from Saratoga Springs Road to Witter Springs Road on Friday, January 9. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P20DA
- Route 29 (14.8/16) – Utility work from Hofacker Lane to Agua Dulce Drive will occur on Tuesday, January 6. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P29FA
- Route 29 (20.3/20.4) – Utility work will occur in Lower Lake from Lee Barr Road to Jct Route 53 on Monday, January 5. Southbound lane closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#P29BA
- Route 175 (20.6/20.8) – Culvert work from Maple Shadows Drive to Arroyo Vista Road will occur on Monday, January 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P175CA
Mendocino County
- Route 1 (45.1) – Culvert work north of Albion Little River Road will occur on Monday and Tuesday, January 5-6. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1DA
- Route 1 (60.2/62.6) – Utility work in Fort Bragg at various locations from the Noyo River Bridge 10-176 to Pudding Creek Road continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should anticipate up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1PA
- Route 1 (61/61.1) – Culvert work in Fort Bragg from Hazel Street to Maple Street will begin on Monday, January 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1PB
- Route 1 (63.8/73.6) – Tree work at various locations from Happy Lane to north of Newport will begin on Monday, January 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P1BA
- Route 1 (75.9/76.2) – Emergency work south of Westport from the Blues Beach Trailhead to the Overlook will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 30-minute delays. LC#C1TA
- Route 1 (78.1/78.3) – Emergency work in Westport at the Wages Creek Bridge 10-137 will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#T1BA
- Route 1 (78.1/78.4) – Emergency work in Westport at Wages Creek Road continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1BB
- U.S. 101 (27.7/37) – Utility work at various locations from north of the Heart Arrow Trail to south of Ridgewood Ranch Road will begin on Thursday, January 9. Lane closures will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#C101KE
- U.S. 101 (39.5/40) – Emergency work south of Mariposa Creek Road continues. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#C101GA
- U.S. 101 (41.3/43.7) – Construction work from the Cal Fire Howard Forest Station to Jct Route 20 will begin on Tuesday, January 6. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#C101DA
- U.S. 101 (50.8/51.5) – Road work near Schow Road continues. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#C101GA
- U.S. 101 (72.1/72.7) – Emergency work north of Laytonville at Woodruff Drive continues. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute delays. LC#T101GA
- U.S. 101 (86.5/87.5) – Emergency work south of Leggett. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#T101GA
- Route 128 (86.5/87.5) – Culvert work east of Pomo Tierra Ranch Road will begin on Tuesday, January 6. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C128BA
- Route 162 (7.9/8.4) – Bridge work at the Eel River Bridge 10-236 continues. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#C162HA
- Route 162 (17.6/19.4) – Road work will occur from east of Hosea Creek to west of Sand Bank Creek on Friday, January 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C162EA
- Route 271 (6.8/7.1) – Utility work will occur in Leggett near the Caltrans Maintenance Station on Friday, January 9. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P271BA
