Special Weather Statement Warns of Strong Winds and Small Hail Possible in Briceland to Miranda Area This Morning
A Special Weather Statement has been issued by the National Weather Service in Eureka for parts of Southern Humboldt County—including Miranda, Myers Flat, Phillipsville, Weott, Redcrest, and Briceland—until 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Forecasters say the area could experience winds up to 40 miles per hour and pea-sized hail, as a fast-moving system passes through the region early this morning. Residents are advised to seek shelter in a sturdy structure if severe weather develops.
While the conditions are expected to be short-lived, the National Weather Service warns that sudden gusts and small hail could make driving hazardous on stretches of Highway 101 and surrounding roads, particularly in wooded or exposed areas.
