Bonnita Jean “Bonnie” Perkett
January 18, 1952 – September 18, 2025Bonnita Jean “Bonnie” Perkett passed away at home on September 18, 2025, at the age of 73, in Sacramento, California, surrounded by her husband and 3 children. Born on January 18, 1952, in Scotia, California. Bonnie grew up in Eureka with her father, Robert C. Lee, brothers Robert (Bob) Lee and Jim Lee. Bonnie lived the last 6 years in Sacramento, CA with her husband Kerry and her fur babies Scrappy and Garcie. Bonnie battled cancer for many years and always came out of it with a smile and a determination to go forward, until recently when it just got too strong for her to fight.
Bonnie, along with husband Kerry, spent retirement years traveling to many places but Mexico and Maui were their favorites. They went on cruises and some of their most memorable trips were to China and Italy. Their honeymoon cruise to Tahiti was just 5 days after 9/11/2001.
Bonnie lived a life marked by dedication to her family and a distinguished career in the title and escrow industry. Bonnie began her professional journey after returning to school while raising her children, demonstrating both determination and resilience. She pursued a career as an Escrow Officer, initially working in Eureka with Ming Tree. Her commitment and expertise led her to Fidelity National Title, where she served for many years—ultimately rising to the position of Vice President before retiring in 2009. Her work ethic and leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Kerry Perkett, mother-in-law Carolyn Rorman, daughters Tracy Ward (Lonnie), Carol Mallard, and son Michael Lenhart Jr. (Bolin); and stepchildren Zacah Perkett (Sone), Joshua Perkett, and Annalisa Perkett. She was a proud grandmother to Samantha Dyer, Nicholle Linares (Carlos), Gary Mitchell, Jacob Nelson (Ashley), Daniel Nelson, Lucas Nelson (Charity), David Nelson Jr. (Lexie), Kathryn Nelson, Timothy Nelson (Isa), Elijah Mallard, Dixi Mallard, Austin Lenhart (Lauren), Rebekah Lenhart and Lucille Hooten. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Phoenix Louise, Jaxson, Brantley, Bennet, Benjamin and Elio.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Lee, stepmother Lucille Lee, brother Jim Lee and father-in-law Phil Perkett.
Bonnie’s life was one of perseverance and love—a testament to the strength of character she carried throughout her years. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday May 3, 2026 from 11-2 pm at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka, CA.
In thanks for the many years of outstanding medical care that Bonnie received from Stanford Medical Center, she donated her body to Stanford for medical research. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bonnie’s honor can be made to: Stanford Medical Center or Vitas Healthcare Hospice in Sacramento, CA
