I avoid Wabash after experiencing a near-deadly t-bone near this intersection. It wasn’t my time.

I had an accident there when an inattentive driver flew through the intersection, ignoring their red light. The force of the impact could have killed my loved one in the passenger seat. Luckily, that driver’s car hit my car far enough behind the passenger seat to spin my car around but not injure us. Ever since then, when I must use that intersection (which is often), I never enter the intersection on the basis of trusting other drivers to follow the rules of the road, to be alert (or even awake); instead, I verify with my own eyes that opposing traffic has come to a complete standstill.

Wabash can be a an extremely dangerous street if folks don’t go the speed limit (or lower) and pay attention at all the intersections. I hope the woman taken to the hospital will be fine.

A valuable publication would be “the safest streets for automobiles in Eureka,” or whatever city.

There is no 2300 block of West Wabash.
The photo appears to be the 300 block.

There was an article yesterday about a fire on W Buhne St where a 2 also got inserted in front of the actual block number.

I believe that should be between Union Street and Albee; last I heard, we don’t have an Aldi store in Eureka …

Did one of the drivers attempt to make a u-turn mid-block?

FACTS!- I am the woman in the article. That was taken to the hospital.

It was 3-4 cars, not 2. The driver that hit us, kept driving down Union. He was caught up to, by driver of car that I was passenger in) that he hit, and brought back to the scene.

He was in a truck. It was down on Union during photos.3rd vehicle that was hit was a blue jeep.
