Motorists are advised to check QuickMap or the QuickMap app for the latest road conditions.

The slide has been particularly active for the last day. The road was closed yesterday afternoon and stayed closed overnight. It reopened about 7:30 this morning. But has once again closed.

Hats off to the fantastic workers that are trying so damn hard to keep the road open for travel. Mother nature has not been very kind in that spot for many years. I am happy that no workers or vehicle drivers have been injured when the slides have come down. They were smart to close the road overnight because you can’t see up the mountain in the dark what might be coming down and damage your vehicle, injure or kill you.

Spot was estimating 2 minutes while Sick of Socialists figured it would take an hour with a break — CJ didn’t give a timeline but said that’s why he always carries a chain saw, implying he’d have gotten it open PDQ — what do we need all these State and County road crews for when the first keyboard warrior on the scene can get the job done?

Two minutes if we call in Godzilla and he uses one of the downed trees as a broom.

Ugh. There’s going to be tiny boulders and tire eaters coming down off that forever.

They need to declare a state of emergency. People haven’t been able to get to work or return home safely. The back roads are way too dangerous to drive on now that it is raining again, and the gravel trucks are having to use them to dump slide waste.

Thanks for the update. I was working out that way Tuesday only to be blocked in by the slide on my way home. I had to double back and drive out via Kneeland road. Pretty rough and long way to go.
