[Update: Roadway Opened] Traffic Collision on SR 255 at V Street Blocks Southbound Lanes, One Injured
A traffic collision involving two vehicles has resulted in a road blockage on SR 255 at V Street in Arcata. The incident, reported at approximately 5:37 p.m., involved a green Subaru hatchback and a gray Nissan Altima.
Initial reports suggest that the collision occurred when the green SUV rear-ended the Nissan Altima. Emergency services responded promptly, and fire personnel were on the scene by 5:47 p.m. The collision has resulted in debris scattered across the roadway, and the southbound lanes of SR 255 are currently blocked.

Pure speculation; the Nissan driver slowed to turn onto V St. and the Subaru driver didn’t notice? Hopefully no one was seriously hurt.
More likely the Subaru was tailgating and didn’t leave enough space for whatever the Nissan planned on doing.
