[UPDATE 10:02 a.m.] Slow Traffic North of Eureka After T-Bone Crash

Traffic collision, crash, wreck, feature iconTraffic is moving slowly on Highway 101 northbound out of Eureka after a t-bone collision occurred at approximately 4:14 this afternoon.

According to information from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash resulted in one vehicle being left in the northbound lanes and another vehicle in the center divide.

Initially reported as a major traffic collision with emergency responders en route, the incident was later downgraded to a minor injury collision at 4:23 p.m. Humboldt Towing was dispatched to remove a Subaru Crosstrek with front-end damage from the scene.

As of 4:22 p.m., one vehicle had been moved from the northbound lanes, but traffic continues to be tangled.

UPDATE 10:02 a.m.: Two people were transported by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.

Yeah I live across the 101 from Target. Two Firetrucks and an ambulance went speeding by about 15 minutes ago. NB traffic is still crawling by.

It would be nice to know which intersection, probably on the safety corridor. The new construction at the Indianola cutoff has diverted the traffic lanes and it’s going to confuse a lot of people until they get used to it.

I’m glad no one was seriously hurt.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens when Caltrans finishes the interchange and raises the speed limit to 70mph.
