Arcata Fairy Festival Returns to Arcata Plaza June 28th
This is a press release from Shoshanna and Playhouse Arts:
The Arcata Fairy Festival returns to the Arcata Plaza on Sunday, June 28 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., inviting all to a day of enchantment and transformation.
Presented by Playhouse Arts, in collaboration with the Fairy Festival High Fae Council, this free, family-friendly event promises whimsical merriment for all ages. Last year’s festival attracted over 5,600 attendees and festival organizers anticipate an even more magical turnout this year.
This year’s theme, “Tidal Dreams,” transforms the Arcata Plaza into a magical shoreline where mermaids, sea dragons, pirates, fairies, and creatures of the deep gather for a day of wonder. Explore artisan treasures, live music, aerial arts, dancing, whimsical performances, and hands-on adventures for all ages. Come dressed in your most magical attire and let the tides carry you into a dreamlike celebration of creativity, community, and imagination.
Festival attendees will be mesmerized by enchanting dance performances, indulge in craft libations fit for fairy folk, participate in the costume contest, and relax in interactive lounges. Guests will feast upon delectable treats from food booths, including local school Coastal Grove Charter School, and marvel at graceful mermaids, awe-inspiring giant dragons, and the delightful spectacle of HumBubbles.
Behold the enchanting performers gracing this realm: Makenu, Good Company, Northern Highbush Band, the Maypole Band, Emerald Aerial Dance Collective, Spellbound, Spoon Circus, Zeta Fusion Bellydance, Academy of Irish Dance, Shoshanna, Seabury Gould, Carl Meredith, Humboldt Fire Dragons, Circus of the Elements, and a myriad of other delights await your senses.
Festival attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, roll or carpool to the event. As stewards of this enchanted realm, festival organizers humbly request that visitors bring forth their own utensils and vessels, be they cup or chalice, to partake in the elixirs of mirth and magic. Reusable dishes will be provided by Bright and Green.
Additionally, this event joyously lends its wings to uplift and raise funds for or share information about the noble causes of local nonprofits and agencies including the many programs of Playhouse Arts, Loving Hands Institute, Friends of First 5 Humboldt Playgroups, Northcoast Children’s Services, Humboldt Domestic Violence Services, Humboldt-Trinity Child Support Agency, and Redwood Community Services.
The Arcata Fairy Festival gets its wings from generous sponsors including the City of Arcata, Schmidbauer Family Foundation, The Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce, InTents, Arcata Chamber of Commerce, North Coast Co-Op, Redwood Capital Bank, Living Doll Vintage, Frankie’s New York Bagels, and New World Water.
