Eastbound Lane of Hwy 299 Blocked After Traffic Collision Leaves Occupants Fighting Mad

traffic accidentCHP officers are responding to a solo traffic collision on Highway 299 just east of Burnt Ranch around 12:30 p.m. on November 6.

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information page, the collision was reported at 12:10 p.m. The log states that the vehicle was partially blocking the eastbound lane and that some of the occupants of the vehicle were outside the vehicle engaged in a physical altercation. Approximately 20 minutes after the altercation was reported, emergency dispatcher relayed that the parties were separated.

An ambulance is en route from the Burnt Ranch area, while CHP is en route from Humboldt County.

Further information indicates a second vehicle may have been involved and fled the scene.

Caltrans QuickMap states that due to the crash, one-way traffic has been implemented 1.1 miles east of Hennessey Road to Road 435. Please avoid the area if possible.
