Nail gun will shatter bone.

Some nail guns will shoot 20d.

(“20 penny” or 4 inch nail…)

He will be lucky if it didn’t strike bone.

Deep puncture wounds should be seen by a medical professional.

Tetanus shot check, no reason to see an overpaid medical professional, last time I went I got a tetanus shot on way in and on the way out, 2 in one day.Bunch of scatter brains on top of that inflation for the last 2 years is the real killer.

Fun shooting nails at the fresh meat when they had to use the shitter in between breaks.

Hopefully this dude only shot him self once. We used to disable the sequential trip and use contact trip only.

Pssst… for you Gun Haters, that meant we could fire multiple nails with one trigger pull as long as the contact or “bump” was depressed.

An Assault Hitachi, if you will.

And we did.

I knew a man that shot himself in the eye with a nail gun. His vision wasn’t perfect but he could see out of it after surgery.

Just happy the nail did not hit a vital organ. You get hot and tired and it is easy to fire one off by accident as in this case. Hope his leg will heal good and be ok.

I was a framing contractor in Los Angeles from 1974 until, well a lot later , maybe too long. I have pulled a few 16 d nails out of carpenters. Once my cousin Donny was framing a wall and missed the top plate and a 16 flew about 30’ and stuck through another guys baseball cap who was bent over framing another wall. It barely penetrated his flesh. He knew something hit him but did not know what it was. He stood up looking around with the nail standing straight up like a unicorn horn. When he took his hat off the nail released. No harm no foul and he did not want to go to the ER. The best kind of employee. I was finishing up my last jobs, in 1993, so I could leave that night to drive to Minnesota to build a little resort. One job was reframing the roofs of some condo complexes, which finished at noon and the other was remodeling the home of the general contractor. I had one one guy, Tony, who I had laid off or fired many times over the years but hired him because I was in a bind and there was virtually no thinking to be done where I put him. Me and another guy went to help Tony finish and he had just a row of blocks in some ceiling joists to finish which were mostly cut and many of them to the right measurement. I tapped the last block to it’s final home and Tony reached up and shot a 16 through my thumb into the joist. After getting a bar and pulling the nail for me I fired Tony for the final time. That thumb ached all the way to Grand Marais.

Any suspicions as to whether Tony nailed you on purpose?
