The 1 greenhouse I have with plastic still on it stood up to 60mph in the last storm. I watched it get flattened in less than 2 minutes today. Made some strategic cuts so the whole thing didn’t launch down the mountain. I had a hard time standing up against the wind. Prayers go out to all those who have it so much worse!

My house received roof damage. Thank you Lori Harness for telling me. I heard something flapping around all night. I have seen wind twice like this strong here in the Cove. Unbelievable. Stay safe and stay off the roads if possible.

Hi, it’s not windy here right now. My neighbor in McKinleyville had a very large tree fall through their roof OFF Bartow rd Another very big tree smashed the pharmacy roof near Safeway in mck. It looks like central ave still closed near 6R brewery too, c folks are still detoured around Bella vista to Bartow rd.
( I Hope this rain helps the salmon to run and do their thing)

Hello, I have family in the area, Bob & Bettye. I have been unable to reach them by phone and we are very worried about them. If anyone knows about their location or whereabouts, any update would be truly appreciated. – Triz and Xavier.

Triz~ You tell Xavier this is his Hot Chocolate Maker(aka his and his Grandpa’s Barista when he is here in the Cove) that his Grandpa is fine. So is Miss Bettye. They are both right as rain and all is well at home for them. They have eyes on them and all is good in the Grandpa Hood’. Let Mr. Xavier know that I cant’t wait to see him on his next visit and we will have many stories and jokes to share.

I went to check the damage to the cliff in the cove at the end of landis road , I walked the trail down to the beach , where everything is a mess I was collecting shells and some random beach rocks when I came across what looked like a loop earring made of gold . But I was mistaken because when I went to pick it up … it was the edge of a very old gold coin . I’m going back with my detector today to look for more . I’m thinking it’s Spanish? I found it by dead mans creek
