[Update] Two Vehicle Collision on Myrtle Avenue in Eureka

traffic accidentA multiple car traffic collision has occurred near Kool Beanz just after 10 a.m. on November 11.

Scanner traffic indicates three to four two vehicles were involved with at least one person needing medical attention.

Once on scene, City Ambulance reported that two vehicles were on the sidewalk.

Caltrans QuickMap is showing that traffic is snarled. Please avoid the area if possible.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

Update 10:27 a.m.: Our reporter, Ryan Hutson is on the scene of the accident. She reports, “There’s a maroon Ford explore with a pickup truck bed, towing a trailer that was involved in the crash as well as a second SUV style vehicle and traffic is impacted between the Shell station and older bay Alder Bay at Sunny Lane.”

Update 10:55 a.m.: Officer T. Moore of the Eureka Police Department confirms that only two vehicles were involved in the collision. There were two children in one of the vehicles involved but none of the children were injured in the accident. Two patients are being treated by the paramedics.

Note: The original title of this article stated “multiple vehicle collision” based on scanner traffic, however, our reporter on scene was able to confirm only two vehicles were involved, one towing a trailer. The title has been updated to reflect that.

It is a maroon Ford F-150 towing the trailer. I am very happy none of the children were injured. The woman holding the baby does not know how to correctly restrain your baby or young child. She should receive a ticket for child endangerment.

This stretch of road I wouldn’t want to live on. Nice old houses but way too much traffic.

Who’s fault was it? From what I could see it looks as if the truck hit Tahoe? But IDK WHAT REALLY HAPPENED??

FYI, in the 10:27 update, ‘older bay’ is Alder Bay, a senior assisted living facility. I used to work nearby and was over there all the time.

I’m glad no one was seriously injured.
