Yurt on Fire Southeast of Trinidad

Burning structure feature iconAt 6:23 p.m., firefighters learned of a yurt on fire in at the corner of Fox Farm Road and North Westhaven Road.

The first firefighters on scene saw the building fully engulfed in flames. The fire was not spreading and there were no nearby structures or vehicles in danger.

I smelled smoke when I took the exit to Westhaven tonight. Then we saw fire trucks go by..

Well for those residents it bites big time! Canvas is unforgiving. Winter cometh! Hope they have folks who can give them shelter!

So disappointing. I’m not sure Westhaven fire even showed up, they only have 2 active firefighters these days. The community refuse to help, I can’t even blame it all on the growers at this point. A far cry from when Westhaven was filled with logging men , many women used to volunteer too. Shame.

Yep Westhaven was there Neil! Five of us and three apparatus…Type 1 engine, water tender, mini pumper and even the rescue rig!
