[UPDATE 10:05 p.m.] Camper on Fire Near Ruth Lake

Fire helmet red backgroundAbout 7:45 p.m., a camper in the 13,100 block of Mad River Road in Trinity County caught fire, according to the scanner. This is about a mile south of the Ruth Lake campground.

Firefighters reached the area quickly and reported that there was no spread to the surrounding vegetation as of 7:50 p.m.

The fire has been controlled with “minimal spread to the vegetation,” according to the Incident Commander relaying information to Trinity County Emergency dispatch over the scanner.

My God! I hope the camper is OK.
Did he or she spontaneously combust?

Lol exactly what I thought someone put that poor camper out! Who sits there and let’s a camper burn

I sure hope the folks using that camper were not involved and inside when it started to burn. They generally burn very quickly giving you little time to get out.
