Sheriff’s Office Seeks Suspects in Burglary/Vandalism of Popular Gift Shop

Wanted burglary

Post on Twitter from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department.

Late, last Saturday, a popular tourist gift shop in Southern Humboldt alongside Hwy 101 just north of Richarson Grove, the Legend of Big Foot was robbed and vandalized by three men.

According to manager Mike White who later watched surveillance video, “They showed up about 11:30.” At that time they took some items and left but they returned.Wanted burglary

“They came back about 15 minutes later,” he told us in a phone interview. He said they stole more items and vandalized the store.

“Numerous cars drove by with the cash register shattered in the parking lot.” The thieves  stayed some time vandalizing and stealing more, White told us in an interview earlier this week. Wanted burglary

Several good photos of the suspects were captured. However, a good image of their vehicle was not captured.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has information to call  (707) 445-7251. Reference case number 202100292.

A true gem of the west coast. [edit] I hope he is going to be continuing running that landmark institution. Without it our area truly loses a one of a kind. We all prey for you that you will be able to survive.

So you are wishing the business well and recovery but also saying that if someone recognizes these losers that they should keep their mouth shut?

[edit] Being a single 57 yr old very small person I feel I cant go out and enjoy what I use to do with out packing. I love fishin and enjoying nature, taking photos etc How do we get a handle on the scummy people with out infringing on their so called rights? Common decency has left the building, replaced by scary people that are taking over our community. We cant continue to hide under the table like scared little mice I hope something can be done so we can feel safe again before its to late

[edit] And yes the community needs to be able to defend themselves. I was once informed by local police that you have the right to defend your property by any means. But you can’t simple end the senseless crimes when you can’t even arrest people for moderate but damaging crimes.

It’s not the stealing “dumb tourist shit”, it’s the removal of the rodents. Do you put out food for the rat infestation in your home?

It starts off with a bigfoot magnet then tools. Hate tool thieves then they try some drug dealer ripoffs and usually get served. It’s the sense of entitlement and jealousy of people that are producing citizens. To underestimate someone because they steal jam could be fatal they could easily have 1 gun between 3 people.

None of them are wearing gloves. They obviously weren’t worried about leaving their fingerprints all over the place!

I lived on a ranch near a large Indian reservation here in nor cal. I had constant thefts and break ins because the Indians were taught that stealing from the white land holders was good. It was very difficult and why we eventually sold but it became a cat and mouse game where I was able to catch and capture 2 of the culprits. There is a lot of blood that stains this land and there are those that are jealous and bitter and try to destroy someone else’s sand castle rather than build their own. To stick your head in the sand and not be careful in this area with a large number of dangerous criminals you aren’t going to be around long. I think they are living in their car and are on cameras at various gas stations in the area. Chevron GB, piercy etc…

If they were coming north there would be video of them usually at the hopland gas station with a burger stand because it has a bathroom that is untended. Walmart parking lot area ukiah and rest areas on 101 if they are living in their vehicle.
