Summer is Coming

Pond with Boy

Daily Photo # 27

  • For some reason, I love that the title of this photo is “Pond with Boy” and not something like “Boy at Pond.” Gives the whole thing an interesting focus.

  • Yeah! I love it when someone “gets” me! The whole point of that photo is the boy with his face away is generic and the pond is timeless.

  • I love summer. I love ponds. And I love certain little boys, too! 🙂

  • I think he has a whole family wrapped around his pond dipping little finger.

  • Days like today I wish I was a little boy running around in shorts. He is a cutie.

  • Morning Kym,
I just caught up in here. Love the photos of your mom, and the skull. I wish I had your eye.
Pond with Boy is a very interesting perspective. Love it.

  • When I was a lad, I used to take a jar and catch tadpoles, wiggle worms, (mosquito larva), and critters out of the ponds just to watch them hatch. One day I had a fellow tell me that I was only seeing the surface of the pond creatures, and that there were many, many water-bugs much smaller than I was seeing. He told me to take my jar of bugs to school and look at the water under a microscope. I did just that, I was floored by all the ameba and other microscopic critters that were in the water. I got to be the hero of the science class that day. Have your kids try that if they haven’t already. I guess that this time I get to be “the fellow” that opens a door for a young mind.

  • It makes me excited for summer (it feels no where near that in Maine right now.) The boys interaction with the water really captures one of the best things about summer. The ability to explore nature in the sun. Really great picture!

  • These warm days here are bringing out the scientist in my little guy. He has been investigating everything from tiny green caterpillars to four inch trout. But we haven’t gotten the microscope out yet.

I can’t decide if I like this photo because it is good or because it has one of my favorite guys having a wonderful day in it.
