Today, Hotels Open to Non-Essential Travel and Nail Salons, Tattoo Parlors, Massage Businesses Open, Says Dr. Frankovich
Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich the opening of motels to non-essential travel, as well as the opening of nail salons, tattoo and massage parlors today.
She also announced that gyms can re-open on July 3 “assuming local conditions look good.”
“Most sectors of our economy are able to be open,” she points out in the video above.

Youth sports, please. Kids activities, please. If we can have tourism, gyms (next), TATTOO parlors, surely Little League Baseball should have been on board before that. It would be outdoors of course and is non-contact. Come on, now. Be reasonable.
All the science shows that outside would be extremely low risk, and even more low risk with masks on. These kids can play.
Major league baseball is shutting back down after many players, including 5 Phillies, tested positive. Careful kids!
They’re basically living and working together indoors. Have you been to a Major League Facility? Outside of the outside ballpark, the training room, weight room, lockers, showers, are all inside a tiny space. And, they’re in Florida! There is little to no transmission outside with a mask and distancing.
But so many are not wearing masks or practicing social distance as we open back up. In fact it seems they take the fact that we are opening back up as an indication that these precautions are unwarranted, rather than seeing that opening back up only makes sense if we stick to these precautions.
And we have lots of people who believe the entire response to this virus has been an overreaction. They didn’t get the message early on that a successful shelter-in-place protocol will look like an overreaction in hindsight.
