Shots Fired at Vehicle After Traffic Accident

Shots Fired featureTonight about 9 p.m., at the Herrick exit off Hwy 101 south of Eureka, an occupant of a white older model Chrysler 300 with a missing tail light shot at the victim’s car, according to a report over the scanner. The victim and suspect vehicle reportedly were involved in a traffic accident at the same location.

According to the dispatcher, multiple witnesses reported that the suspect shooter was white or Hispanic, in his early 20’s, with light colored hair, and thin build.

The unknown type firearm had a green laser on it. The vehicle was last seen driving southbound on Hwy 101, passing the Main street exit to Fortuna. Eureka Police had the Herrik offramp closed for a short while but it is now open. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office are also on scene and looking for vehicle as well as are the California Highway Patrol.
