The Ink People Center’s Youth Inquiry in Action program is bringing young people together at Two Street Art Lab to learn research skills and turn their findings into reports and art.

Help’s On The Way kicks off a summer-long concert series in downtown Garberville, with weekly shows planned through the end of August.

“We will gather at the Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market on the Children’s Lawn on Saturday, Aug. 1 from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome!”

“Lost Coast FabLab is about putting powerful tools into the hands of our community,” said Danny Kelley, founder of Lost Coast FabLab. “We want people to come in with an idea, a problem, a repair, a business concept, or just curiosity — and leave with new skills, real confidence, and something they made themselves.”

A free July event at Elk Meadow will let visitors with mobility limitations explore redwood forest trails otherwise out of reach, using all-terrain chairs built for the job.

“This year’s annual Senior News celebration of our Independence Day is more than the usual joy at red, white & blue festivities, hotdogs, parades, fireworks and “God Bless America.” Contributors to this issue also reflect on what being an American means to them, the value of liberty and independence, and the 250-year traditions and values contained in the Declaration of Independence. “
