My condolences to the victim’s family and friends. It’s a crappy way to go.

Do y’all think she might have made it safely across if she’d been wearing bright colors and waving a flashlight around in the middle of the day in a crosswalk? Perhaps she should have worn a helmet. <– angry sarcasm

Margaret was 4′ 10″ tall and weighed 100 lbs.. Perhaps if the driver wasn’t driving a huge pickup with a lift kit that sits so high up off the ground that she can’t see over the hood things may have been different. I checked the functioning of the lights at that intersection. When the pedestrian pushes the button to get the green signal that says it’s safe to cross the street, the traffic lights for the automobiles also turn green at the same time. Seeing as how there have been countless accidents at this intersection, wouldn’t it make sense to program the lights for the vehicles to remain red for 15 seconds so the pedestrians have a chance to safely cross. Poor design and planning if you ask me. The city should also consider slowing the speed limit in Henderson Center to 15 or 20 miles per hour.
