A Gray Dodge Truck Goes Off Road on SR-36; Helicopter Rescue Underway

A solo vehicle crash on Highway 36 near McClellan Mountain Road today, prompted a medical rescue involving two helicopters.

The crash was reported at approximately 2:28 p.m., when a gray Dodge truck left the roadway.

A 57-year-old male patient, described as experiencing back and chest pain, was being transported to Dinsmore Airport by Cal Fire helicopter 604, where they are set to rendezvous with the REACH 18 air ambulance.

No other vehicles were reported involved. Conditions that contributed to the crash were not immediately available.

The truck went off 36 at MM 31.19. (My driveway) It went into a ravine accross the ravine out the other side and up the side of the hill. AMAZING the it didn’t roll. Bridegeville VFD and CalFire responded and the driver was prepped and medivacked by the CalFire helicopter.
