A Feather Alert has been activated for Del Norte and Humboldt counties as authorities search for a 62-year-old at-risk woman who was last seen in Klamath earlier this week.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Anita Brown was last seen at approximately noon on June 24 near Klamath Boulevard and Salmon Avenue in the community of Klamath in Del Norte County.

Brown is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown and teal Native American jacket, gray pants and slippers.

The alert identifies Brown as a member of the Coyote Valley Tribe. Authorities believe she may be traveling on foot.

The Feather Alert was activated by the CHP on behalf of the Yurok Tribal Police Department. CHP said it was notified of the case on June 27.

Anyone who sees Brown or has information about her whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.

The California Highway Patrol said its alert account is used solely to distribute public safety alerts.
