Chip, Fog, and Seal: Humboldt County Roads Getting a Facelift Starting Monday

Press release from the Humboldt County Department of Public Works:

The Humboldt County Department of Public Works is preparing for construction work in various locations throughout the county beginning on Monday, June 15, and will continue through Thursday, June 25.

The following communities impacted by road work are, Bridgeville, Carlotta, Arcata Bottom, Blue Lake, Trinidad, and Westhaven.

All roads will experience delays greater than 15 minutes with traffic control on weekdays from 7:00 am through 5:00 p.m. and will require more than one day of road work.

Construction will involve road preservation treatments, such as, chip, fog, and fiberized micro seals to extend the pavement service life.

Commuters are asked to follow all traffic control devices and signs within the construction area and allow for extra travel time when possible. Thank you for your patience while work is in progress.

These projects are funded by Measure O.

• Alderpoint Road from Highway 36 to Sturm Road

Tuesday, June 16:

• Alderpoint Road from Highway 36 to Sturm Road
• Golden Gate Drive from Highway 36 to the end of the road
• Ackerman Lane from Golden Gate Drive to Golden Gate Drive
• Kemp Court from Ackerman Lane to the end of the County-maintained road

Wednesday, June 17:

• Lanphere Road from Seidel Road to Mad River Slough Bridge
• Seidel Road from Lanphere Road to the North end of Seidel Road
• Mad River Road from Miller Lane to the North end of Mad River Road

Thursday, June 18

• Mad River Road from Miller Lane to the North end of Mad River Road
• Lanphere Road from Seidel Road to Mad River Slough Bridge
• Seidel Road from Lanphere Road to the North end Seidel Road
• Mad River Road from Miller Lane to Lanphere Road
• Miller Lane from Mad River Road to Heindon Road
