Two Southern Humboldt Residents Arrested by Drug Task Force
Two Southern Humboldt residents were arrested Monday morning by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force on marijuana-related charges, though authorities have not yet released details about the investigation that led to the arrests.
According to Humboldt County jail records, Ulises Roman-Contreras, 34, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Monday by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force. He was booked on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, illegal cultivation of marijuana, maintaining a place for unlawfully selling, giving away or using controlled substances, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Marisa Capra, 40, was arrested an hour later, at 10:30 a.m., by the same agency. She was booked on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, maintaining a place for unlawfully selling, giving away or using controlled substances, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Both were released from custody after posting bail.
The arrests followed reports of a substantial law enforcement presence in the Twin Trees area of Benbow south of Garberville early Monday morning.
One witness told Redheaded Blackbelt that at approximately 7:20 a.m., multiple unmarked law enforcement vehicles and a California Highway Patrol vehicle temporarily blocked traffic on Twin Trees Road before entering a private driveway. The witness said the road remained closed for roughly 15 minutes.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the activity observed on Twin Trees Road was connected to the arrests though we believe it was connected.
Redheaded Blackbelt has requested additional information and will update this story as details become available.
