Fatal DUI Rollover Crash Near Covelo This Afternoon

A passenger died today about 5:30 p.m. in a suspected DUI rollover crash on Hull Valley Road near Covelo, according to information relayed through Mendocino County dispatch traffic.

Emergency responders were initially dispatched Code 3 to the area of Hull Valley Road near Mina Road for a reported traffic collision involving a disturbance. Early reports indicated a vehicle had overturned and a victim was trapped beneath it.

Medical personnel were initially directed to stage away from the scene while law enforcement secured the area. Dispatch traffic later indicated the trapped victim had been removed from beneath the vehicle.

Authorities subsequently confirmed the incident was a fatal collision. According to information relayed over dispatch channels, a passenger in the vehicle died as a result of the crash. The driver reportedly survived and was described as being shaken up following the incident.

Dispatch traffic further indicated investigators were treating the collision as a suspected DUI crash.
