You’re Invited to Enjoy Homemade Treats While Helping Fulfill a Mother’s Final Wish

If you have a sweet tooth and a desire to help a family in need, a special bake sale fundraiser offers a chance to do both.
Today, Tuesday, June 9,* community members are invited to stop by a “Mom’s Last Trip” Bake Sale Fundraiser, where homemade baked goods will be available for purchase from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 15th and West Avenue in Eureka.
The fundraiser supports a family facing an unimaginably difficult chapter. After learning that cancer treatments are no longer working, a mother battling advanced cancer has one simple wish: to spend precious time with all of her children and grandchildren together while she still can.
Because medical concerns make flying unsafe, the family hopes to make the journey by car. They are trying to cover travel expenses at a time when resources are already stretched thin.
Organizers hope the bake sale will help raise funds to make that reunion possible.download
Those who stop by can expect a variety of homemade treats while knowing their purchase is helping a family create lasting memories during a difficult time.
For those unable to attend the bake sale but who would still like to help, donations can also be made through the family’s GoFundMe fundraiser.
Whether you’re craving cookies, cupcakes, brownies, or simply want to lend a hand, organizers say every purchase and every donation brings the family one step closer to making a mother’s final wish come true.
