Cannifest Issues Request for Proposal for Ticketing Operations
From Humboldt Green Events and Community Pride and Peace:
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)
Non-Profit Partner for On-Site Ticketing & Credentialing Operations
Event: 11th Annual Cannifest
Dates: September 12 – 13, 2026
Location: Arcata Ballpark
Issued By: Humboldt Green Events & Community Pride and Peace
1. Introduction & Overview
Humboldt Green Events and Community Pride and Peace are proud to produce the 11th annual Cannifest. Giving back to the local community and supporting grassroots organizations has always been a core pillar of our mission.
As we prepare for this year’s festival at the Arcata Ballpark, we are seeking a dedicated non-profit organization or community group to partner with us by taking over the on-site guest ticketing and credentialing operations for Saturday, September 12th, and Sunday, September 13th.
2. Scope of Work
We have already developed and implemented a seamless, streamlined, and easily manageable digital ticketing system. We are not looking for a new software solution; rather, we need a reliable partner to provide the human power to execute the system at the front gates.
The selected partner will be expected to:
- Provide a dedicated and enthusiastic team of 6 to 8 individuals to staff the main entrance at the Arcata Ballpark.
- Operate the existing ticketing scanners/system to check in general admission guests and issue appropriate credentials.
- Work alongside the core Cannifest team to ensure a welcoming, efficient, and bottleneck-free entry experience for all attendees on Saturday and Sunday.
3. Division of Responsibilities
To ensure a smooth partnership, responsibilities will be distinctly divided:
- Humboldt Green Events / Cannifest Core Team: Will maintain direct responsibility and act as the lead on all communication, credentialing, and production for vendors on Friday. We will also provide full training on the ticketing system prior to the gates opening on Saturday.
- Selected Partner Organization: Will take full ownership of the guest-facing entry operations for Saturday and Sunday.
4. Proposal Requirements
Interested organizations should submit a brief proposal outlining the following:
- Organization Overview: A brief description of your non-profit/community group and its mission.
- Team Capacity: Confirmation that you can reliably provide 6 to 8 capable individuals for the duration of the weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
- Relevant Experience: Any previous experience your team or volunteers have with event logistics, customer service, or high-volume environments (experience is a plus, but a positive attitude and reliability are paramount).
- Partnership Structure: Your proposed financial arrangement, donation request, or revenue-share expectation in exchange for managing this operational sector of the festival.
5. Submission Details
Please submit your proposals or any clarifying questions directly to our production team. We look forward to finding a great partner to help us welcome the community to the ballpark this September.
- Submit to: [email protected] and [email protected]
- Deadline for Proposals: May 31, 2026

Is JGB really going to bust out a couple Phish tunes? At this poser fest it would actually be appropriate!
Wow look- it’s a picture of a cannabis plant and an information poster about medicinal uses! (meanwhile phish plays annoying techno-fart sounds in background)
IMHO:
This is a great thing for tourism !
A multi-county drug-fest. Fueled by concentrations of THC.
Kids get in under 12 FREE (???) and the adults go get stoned out of their minds !!!
Heck, Imagine if this was a booze-fest. Fueled by concentrations of corn liquor !!!
Kids get in under 12 FREE (???) and the adults go get wasted out of their minds !!!
Yee hah !!!
This chart is ten years out of date. You couldn’t sell 14% THC bud in any kind of market, either regulated or traditional. We’re growing flower that’s testing at least 20-25%, with plenty of strains coming in over 30%. Not to mention concentrates, which can reach well over 80%.
Of course, my dad and other folks in his generation would roll joint after joint after joint of their Indiana ditch weed in the late sixties. As soon as better stuff from Colombia was available in the seventies, they switched to that. Probably had to smoke less of it, too.
Smoking isn’t good for you. So having to smoke less is a good thing, not bad.
I’m sure folks in the seventies got just as high as folks do today. It’s a tolerance issue more than anything.
BTW, there are plenty of “booze fests,” all over the place, especially in Northern California. Also, you can hop in to any of the “tasting rooms” in any of the wineries in south county, and hop right back in your car, and right back on the 101. But, you can’t walk from the dispensary to your car without hiding your purchase, and you sure as hell can’t buy any from your neighbor.
It is supposedly- by regulation- a non smoking event. Nobody will be smoking weed. Nobody!! No weed will be sold there either. Shuttle buses to take you to the dispensaries so you can get expensive weed there- if you are truly a custie. Otherwise walk over to the plaza and pick up a bag at half the price from locals…
