Water Heater Fire Contained at Two-Story Home on Eel River Drive
Firefighters responded around 10:25 a.m. to a reported residential structure fire in the 1800 block of Eel River Drive in the Fortuna area. Initial reports indicated smoke coming from the basement of a two-story, wood-frame home.

I hope if anyone was home they managed to get out safely including their pets if they had some.
I didn’t realize any houses in the area had basements.
