Residential Structure Fire in Eureka This Afternoon
A residential structure fire broke out shortly before 3:30 p.m. this afternoon at a home in the 2900 block near the corner of West Henderson and Fairfield.
According to Humboldt Bay Fire, crews arrived quickly with four engines and additional first responders. Firefighters were able to access and knock down the fire in the attic before it spread to other parts of the structure.

No injuries were reported, according to Humboldt Bay Fire Chief Greg Citro.
Fairfield Street was blocked at both ends during the response as crews worked the scene. Chief Citro says the homeowner was doing some renovations in the attic, and that is where the fire started and they were able to contain it to the attic and saved the living spaces below.

Another structure mostly saved. Great job Humboldt Bay Fire Department. I am thankful that there were no injuries.
