[Update: Some Units Released] Yurt Fire Reported East of Willow Creek on Thanksgiving Morning

A structure fire broke out east of Willow Creek late Thursday morning, drawing firefighters from Willow Creek and Salyer at a time when most residents were settling into their Thanksgiving holiday.
Around 9:45 a.m., multiple callers reported that a yurt was burning in the 300 block of Gulch Road, just off Highway 299. The first arriving unit established command and designated the incident the Terrace Fire, a reference to information from early callers describing the flames “above Upper Terrace Road.”
As firefighters work to contain the blaze, additional engines continued to make their way into the area late Thursday morning. Please use caution if traveling in the area.
At this time, it is not yet confirmed whether the yurt was being used as a residence or served as an outbuilding.
Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.
Updated 11:02 a.m.: Engines from Willow Creek and Salyer made the initial attack, with a Hawkins Bar unit arriving at about 10:32 a.m. Ten minutes later, personnel from Six Rivers National Forest reached the scene and released the Hawkins Bar crew so they could return to district coverage while remaining units continued working the structure fire.
By 11:01 a.m., the incident commander reported that all Salyer units had been released from the Terrace Fire — a positive sign — leaving Willow Creek and SRF crews still on scene.

I am very sorry for the person(s) that lost their structure to fire on this day of giving thanks. I pray there will not be a badly injured or deceased person found. Thank you to all the first responders who used part of their Thanksgiving Day to help others.
We are ok.
Just saying, I am very happy to hear that.
Years ago, I worked with a nurse who had a yurt out that way. She introduced me to Buddhism and the Eight Fold Path. I hope this isn’t her place.
Glad if everyone’s OK. Grateful for the seemingly seamless response by the first responders. I sometimes fantasize about living a simpler life in a yurt in that neck of the woods.
Salyer, willow creek and Hawkins bar volunteer fire departments showed up in addition to forest service. I am so grateful for them.
