[Update: Forward Progress Stopped] Duzen Fire Reported West of Bridgeville Along Highway 36
As firefighters across the region respond to multiple fires, a new vegetation fire has been reported around 3:35 p.m. this afternoon at mile marker 22.7 on Highway 36 just west of Bridgeville.
According to scanner traffic, the fire originally reported as approximately 500 feet in size is now reported to be 1/4 acre in size and headed uphill. The vegetation fire has been dubbed the Duzen Fire.
CAL FIRE engines, two dozers, two hand crews, as well as Bridgeville VFD and a Carlotta water tender has been dispatched to the blaze. Please use caution if driving in the area as firefighters converge on the area.
Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.
Update: Within 15 minutes of the initial report, the incident commander told emergency communications that forward progress on the Duzen Fire has been stopped. Some nearby resources have continued in but most incoming resources have been cancelled.
Update 4:20 p.m.: Per scanner traffic, the total area burned from the Duzen Fire is reported to be .06 acres.
