Dolly Parton May or May Not Be at Friday Night Market on June 6th & 13th
This is a press release from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for Humboldt County:
Dolly will be at the Eureka Friday Night Market on June 6th and June 13th. See her in front of Eureka Books on 2nd Street as she is promoting her Dolly Parton Imagination Library (or her stand-in will be there). Find out how to enroll your child, aged newborn to 5 years old. They get a book once a month until they turn 5. This program is free to the family. Over 29,000 books have been mailed out to over 2,000 Humboldt County children. There is also a Spanish/bilingual version available.
This is also an opportunity to donate to the program and give the gift of books to a child. Donations cover the costs. The parents are never charged for the program. For more information visit www.BridgevilleCommunityCenter.org Bridgeville Community Center is the Humboldt County partner. It will take the community to make these book dreams come true. Be part of the legacy.
DOLLY PARTON’S IMAGINATION LIBRARY Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland. Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write Dolly started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans five countries and gifts millions of free books each month to children around the world.
“When I was growing up in the hills of East Tennessee, I knew my dreams would come true. I know there are children in your community with their own dreams. They dream of becoming a doctor or an inventor or a minister. Who knows, maybe there is a little girl whose dream is to be a writer and singer.
The seeds of these dreams are often found in books and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.”
Note: Dolly Parton may not come.

Might be acouple of reasons why she doesn’t show. Hope I’m wrong. Workin 9 to 5 what a way to make a living.
It’s called a cardboard cutout showing up. She is 79 years old. She should bottle her kindness, character and genetics, and donate them to Science in order to make better future humans.
People do the best they can.
I may have heard she’s bringing Willie. Some Guy may be catering.

note the bold print on who/what will be there.
Just wanted to confirm that Dolly will NOT be at the Friday Night Market. The press release was taking a little more poetic license than necessary. Mea Culpa.
We appreciate the support for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library that provides books for free to Humboldt County children. We need to raise $25,000 a year to pay for the program. We need the community support to donate to make these computer dreams come true.
