Press release from the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office:

On 2/17/2025 at about 1630 hours, the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Crescent City Police Department at the Surf Apartments in Crescent City regarding the report of man with a gun.

During the response a Law Enforcement Officer discharged his weapon.

An Adult male was confirmed deceased at the scene by a DNSO Deputy Coroner.

Further details cannot be released at this time due to the status of the pending investigation.

A team from the Sacramento area California Highway Patrol was requested by both the Crescent City Police Chief and the Del Norte County Sheriff to investigate the incident.

A message from Sheriff Scott: We will do all that we can to release further details of this investigation once we are absolutely sure the information would not jeopardize a complete investigation by the CHP investigative team.

Please note: Officer-Involved shooting is not a pejorative. Law enforcement use the term also.

If he was committing a crime involving a gun, he got exactly what he deserved, unlike what the judicial system full of corrupt lawyers and judges would have done. Hopefully CHP rules it a good shoot and it’s over.

Of the failures of the justice system? No, not even a little bit. No violent criminals are ever sentenced to death, lengthy prison terms or anything of the kind in California. Those who were back in the day have been taken off death row and corrupt lawyers are fighting for their parole. Those sentenced to life have been consistently released early. Then there’s the “Kitchen” style of sentencing. If that gives anything but a negative 10 on the scale of justice in California, there is clear denial.

[edit by Kym] no clue how the penal system works. Lifers never get out early! Unless sentenced to life without parole, your sentence carries amount of years before the L, that number of years is the amount of years that that person is sentenced to once those years are served if they’re deemed rehabilitated, they’re given the possibility of parole, which our judicial system makes nearly impossible for even the most rehabilitated Inmates to achieve. So unless you’ve lived it and been a part of it, experienced it first-hand you should keep those opinions to yourself.

Courts are banks. Every “crime” is statutory and has a penal sum for the violation. The attorney, DA or prosecuting attorney, and judge all 3 must sign 3 bonds to put a person in jail. This is why they lie and manipulate and scare people into taking a plea deal and not going to trial. Attorneys are not on the clients side. Their first duty is to the court. They all have a financial interest in every case which makes them all involved in a conspiracy to deprive people of their rights and they are all guilty of treason. Statutes codes rules ordinances policy’s are not law. They are corporate bi-laws and our “government” is de facto. It’s not a de jure government. It’s fraud. Treason. The law is simple. Do not cause no injury, harm, or loss to any individual. If there’s no victim, there is no crime. But we have these pathetic idiot cops out here harming , hurting, beating, harassing innocent people because they may be missing a front tooth. Or they’re riding their bike down the road and some other idiot coward doesn’t recognize them so they call the cops saying someone is acting suspicious. The cops show up and willbeat the individual. Or in this case shoot them.

It’s so stupid how ignorant people are. I’m so over it. They get money for placing people in jail. Just like schools get money for kids in class. And cps stealing children for their job security.
Read the laws people!!! Educate yourself and start doing your job and regulate your state employees aka public servants. They’re out of control and the true criminals and it’s your duty to correct them! But you don’t even know the truth about who you are, where hou are so you don’t even know what’s right or wrong. It’s not hard to find out the truth.
