[Update: Not As Reported] Suspected Law Enforcement Congregation in Myers Flat Early This Morning

two white pickup trucks parked next to each other

Two newer and two older, white, unmarked pickup trucks remained along the Avenue in Myers Flat following a large congregation of what appeared to be law enforcement officials.

A large gathering of what appeared to be law enforcement officers was spotted in Myers Flat on the morning of August 7, around 8 a.m.

The group of around 20 plain clothed personnel congregated along the Avenue of the Giants before dispersing in vehicles, some of which were unmarked. A witness reported seeing “K-9 Unit” markings on some of the vehicles. Four unmarked vehicles remained behind at the location with no personnel in sight. Some of the vehicles headed south on the Avenue of the Giants though it is unclear which direction the other vehicles headed in.

two white pickup trucks parked next to each otherRedheaded Blackbelt has reached out to a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office representative for details on this activity.

Update 1:06 p.m.: A trusted source has confirmed that the vehicles pictured above are not law enforcement. We are obtaining additional information.

Update 4:07 p.m.: Following a tip, Redheaded Blackbelt reached out to John Andersen, Director of Forest Policy at Mendocino-Humboldt Redwood Company about the large gathering in Myers Flat today.

Andersen confirmed that the vehicles in question belong to HRC and were parked in Myers Flat after employees embarked on a tour of a Myers Flat area property. The director stated that HRC hosts quarterly forest trainings on sustainable forest management, and today happened to be one of those trainings.

The sighting of a K-9 Unit vehicle reported to Redheaded Blackbelt, was a personal vehicle of an HRC employee who uses the “K-9 Unit Stay Back” decal to dissuade people from approaching his dog.

We apologize for any unwarranted concern this may have caused anyone.

Yes. Layer fish with brown sugar with a brown sugar cap on the top and let ferment for 2 to 6 months in a sealed container. Mix the final product 1 part FAA to 1000 parts water. About a teaspoon to a gallon.

It isn’t out of state, it is a new vehicle with Cal temporary paper plates. If you have any property that has timber property near you, these vehicles are easily recognized. They are in and out of the property marking harvest areas.

1. This article unmistakably illustrates your general paranoia which is also a common trait shared among more than a few people in Humboldt County.
2. As for your post immediately above… to quote U. S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta during the trial of now convicted and imprisoned former Trump White House advisor Peter Navarro on August 28th of last year, “That’s pretty weak sauce.”

Hey smarty pants, CDFW was simultaneously busting Up in Eureka, or somewhere urban, so it’s not too crazy. Anybody with a cannabis permit is walking on eggshells. Is your screen .079″ or .069″? Does your pump put out 4.9 gpm, or 5.6 on those seven winter days you pump a year? Uh did you convert Cubic Meters to gallons each day you pumped from the 100 year in-use spot?

This article unmistakably illustrates our commitment to reporting what is happening in our communities as it happens. Lisa wrote this under my direction. We carefully explained what was seen and what might that mean and then when we learned more facts, those were explained also. This is in large part a breaking news site. That means that we do our best to bring you information as it happens. As more information comes in, we updated with the facts and apologized for any confusion. This might not work for you. Feel free to choose sites that do.

Pay no attention to the nay sayers, Lisa Music…

You are all doing an outstanding job.

The RHBB accuracy in reporting is 99.9+%

It realistically doesn’t get any better than that…

I’m a big fan of neighborhood watch groups…

I appreciate the heads up, no matter what, especially when it isn’t the cops that are “infiltrating”…

Lots of people appreciate it, myself included.

Thank you all very much, for all you do.

I give you all an A+

You know Lisa, for an area the size of Southern Humboldt, that for at least the last 40 years has always told people its nobodies business what they do on their property, that you would say:

“Our very reliable tipster had accurately spotted the group, and the K9 unit decal. It just happened not to be law enforcement this time. Regardless, I’m sure lots of people in and around the area were wanting to know what the large gathering was about. And ultimately, they now have that information.”

I had no idea that RHBB had a “reliable tipster”.

I guess if no one was doing anything wrong, no one would care, right? I hope no one vandalizes these two pickups, since RHBB has posted their make, model and license plates across the internet, accusing them of being with “A large gathering of what appeared to be law enforcement officers… A witness reported seeing “K-9 Unit” markings on some of the vehicles.”

In a perfect world, Ed, none of us would fit in…

And, no, that doesn’t mean that you would end up with the place all to yourself…

My mistake, as evidence that nobody is perfect, there are only trucks parked in front of Knights, not the other old cafe…

I thought it was the other old cafe at first, and then I recognized it as Knight’s, and then my brain played a trick on me, and I thought that trucks were parked in front of both…

Oops…!!!

I actually hope that my huge error that I just made, puts RHBB’s tiny error into perspective…

LOL

Just to be clear. I told Lisa to write this article as I was the one who gathered the information and was with my mom and couldn’t do it.

If you want to complain, please address all further complaints to me, not Lisa.

My comment was to the comment Lisa made, not a complaint about the article. However, her name is on the article as the author. I hope your Mom is well xoxoxoxox

Kym, I made a mistake in my comment above, that I didn’t catch in time…

Could you please delete everything below the wink emoji, or if it would be easier, both comments…???

Thank you.

No, you should leave it, so I can remember if I ever “frequented” Myers Flat, with my family (best pie in Humboldt County) my family was great friends with Ross Knight, or it was only 5 minutes away from South Fork, grab one of those burritos from the MF store for lunch. But let me think about it, I’m sure I’ve been there before…

The question was, if you recognized the restaurant from the picture…

And if you are so familiar with Myers Flat, do you remember the other cafe, “East” of the post office…???

Do you remember eating there, and if so, do you remember the name of it…???

I can’t remember the name, but I remember eating there… Vaguely…

And I remember the proprietors.

(Still waiting for those ROTR lab results…)

See, that’s the problem, when you misinform the public with your post, you don’t want to be accountable, only to have it taken off the public record of this thread. You should own what you say in print, not make it disappear, the same way you use an anonyms name, so you are free to say anything, without being accountable for your actions…

Interesting. A neighbor on Fruitland Ridge commented on the local page that 2 LE vehicles were parked, occupied by LE, at the 4 Corners several hours later. They were unaware of the RHBB report.
