A crash occurred about 10:21 a.m. about mile marker 14.6 on Highway 299 east of Burnt Ranch in Trinity County. According to the scanner, there are multiple people involved and some have major injuries. REACH medevac helicopter has been requested to respond.

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, the initial reports indicate that the roadway is blocked, and parties are trapped in the vehicle with concerns about a potential fire.

A local firefighter is on scene as of 10:30 a.m. and assisting. But it is a remote area and takes time to reach for most emergency services.

Air ways are closed in the area to to the fire response. I’m sure that’s contributing also

At that location there’s no real safe and convenient place for a helicopter to land.

Try your luck on highway 36 and highway 1. Just watch out for the crazy people driving the roads.

36 isn’t bad if you know the road. There some 25mph corners that are not marked.

I just hope everyone involved will be ok. REACH Medvec helicopter should be allowed to fly directly to the crash site without being detoured by the forest service if that is happening. The pilots flying all the airplanes in that area can communicate with one another, so they don’t have any close calls. Thank you to the firefighter that stopped to help with the injured. Prayers for everyone.

Your lack of knowledge is astounding. Many reasons they cannot respond.

Busy doing other callsweather conditions ie to much smokemechanical problems with helicopterOut of range at the moment.Out of fuel and need to refuel.I love how people are experts in things they have never delt with. I guarantee if they can respond they will and if they do not it is for a very good reason.
