[Update] Bicyclist Injured in Fall on Alderpoint Road, Air Ambulance En Route

A 47-year-old man is being evaluated for injuries after falling off his bicycle this afternoon on Alderpoint Road (mile marker 26.3) near Casterlin School, according to scanner traffic.

Alderpoint Cal Fire responded to the code 3 medical call. The man was reported to have trouble breathing, a chest deformity, and pinpoint pupils following the fall according to first responders on scene.

An air ambulance has been requested. Cal Fire helicopter 604, out of Kneeland, has accepted the call with an estimated arrival time of 4:15 p.m. Reach 3, based out of Redding, has also accepted with an estimated arrival time of 5:12 p.m.

This is a developing situation. Redheaded Blackbelt will update as more information becomes available.

Update 4:40 p.m.: The patient is being transported to Eureka via City Ambulance. Reach 35 has been canceled. Cal Fire 604, currently at Casterlin School, will return to the base at Kneeland.
