[UPDATE: Restored] About 700 Residents Are Without Power in Southern Humboldt This Afternoon
At about 2:36 p.m., nearly 700 PG&E customers lost power in Southern Humboldt from Stafford to Myers Flat.
According to PG&E, “There is an unplanned outage… . Our team is evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on.”
Unfortunately, they are currently estimating that power could be out until 12:45 a.m.
Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.
Update: Power has been restored to all customers.

Always is, those unplanned planned outages.
I feel for the folks in Southern Humboldt.
It’s gotta be the most unreliable power challenged place on the North Coast
Even worse than Willow Creek.
I wish that p g e would just tell you what’s going on.im sure there service men can diag elect.problems and report the damage.right
They do. It’s always equipment failure. Like, REALLY?!?!
Everything falls under that category from lines being down, or a pole down, or blown transformer, etc. Then the recording proceeds to tell you that they’re on site investing the issue and 5 mins later the power is on. It takes them about 30 seconds after they’re on site to know what the issue is. Basically their transparency has much room for improvement in my book.
Usually it’s just a tripped breaker on a pole somewhere. They get a guy out there he takes his pole out and wam-bam-thanyou maam it’s all fixed
And it’s 3 hours for the wam, 2 for the bam and at least another hour for the thank you ?
Unless that tripped breaker sparks when it’s tripped and starts a fire.
Not a breaker it’s a fuse, according to a lineman who visited once while checking the lines.
