A major injury crash occurred when a pickup overturned on Branscomb Road, close to Laytonville in northern Mendocino County at approximately 8:47 p.m. As a result of the severity of the injuries, a REACH medevac helicopter has been requested to transport the injured party to a medical facility for treatment, but they estimate it will take them over an hour to respond.

The injured party needed to be extracted from the vehicle. The CHP Traffic Incident Information Page also noted the presence of a dog at the scene, although details regarding its condition were not provided.

UPDATE 9:21 p.m.: The patient is being taken by ground ambulance to rendezvous with REACH 18 at Ellis Field in Willits.

I hope the pickup driver will be fine. Sounds like he got banged up pretty bad. Another slow response from REACH AIR that might have been working another scene. Thank you to the CHP and other first responders.
