Plan Ahead: Major Roadwork Projects Announcement from Caltrans

For updates to this list, visit: QuickMap at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov, check the California Highway Information Network (CHIN) at https://roads.dot.ca.gov or call 1-800-GAS-ROAD (1-800-427-7623). For information pertaining to emergency roadwork, check QuickMap and the CHIN. For media updates, please contact the appropriate Public Information Officer listed above.

Del Norte County

U.S. 101 (8.3/8.6) – Bridge work between Peine Road and Old Hunter Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C101KB

U.S. 101 (14.7/15.3) – Road work north of Rudisill Road in the Last Chance Grade area will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute delays. LC#C101IC

U.S. 101 (22.7/23.8) – Emergency work south of Crescent City from Hamilton Road to Humboldt Road continues. Lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns in the area. LC#C101EB

U.S. 101 (35.7/36.4) – Bridge work at the Dr. Fine Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C101WA

Route 199 (19.9/31.1) – Emergency work east of Gasquet from the Grassy Flat Bridge to the Collier Tunnel Rest Area will continue. One-way traffic control is in effect weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to one-hour delays. LC#T199CA

Humboldt County

Route 36 (11/11.5) – Bridge work from Pamplin Grove to Redwood House Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA

Route 36 (25.3/25.4) – Bridge work at Little Larabee Creek will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA

Route 36 (37.2/37.4) – Slipout repair near Burr Valley Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C36DA

Route 96 (27/27.6) – Construction work near Bluff Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C96LA

Route 96 (29.9) – Bridge work at Slate Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns. LC#C96KA

U.S. 101 (78.3/78.7) – Road work in Eureka from C Street to J Street will continue. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns. LC#C101HD

U.S. 101 (88.3) – Ramp work in Arcata at Route 299 will continue. A full on ramp closure going from 299 onto 101 North will be in effect and motorists should use an alternative route. LC#C101KD

Route 211 (77.2/78.6) – Bridge work at Fernbridge will continue on Wednesday, January 24. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C211CA

Route 254 (3.2/4.3) – Bridge work between State Park Road and Fish Creek Road will continue. A full closure of this portion of highway will be in effect. Motorists should choose an alternate route. LC#C254CA

Route 254 (4.3/4.8) – Road work north of Fish Creek Road continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C254DA

Route 299 (1.3/4.5) – Road work from west of the Mad River Bridge to east of the Mill Creek Bridge will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists should expect minor delays. LC#C299HA

Route 299 (24.3/24.7) – Emergency work near Chezem Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C299GA

Route 299 (32.1/32.5) – Construction work near East Fork Campground will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C299LA

Lake County

Route 175 (19.3/19.5) – Emergency work in Cobb from Estates Drive to Bottle Rock Road will begin on Tuesday, January 23. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P175DA

Mendocino County

Route 1 (50.8/52.2) – Bridge work in Mendocino from Little Lake Road to Surfwood Estates Drive will begin on Monday, January 22. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1VA

Route 1 (65/65.9) – Road work in Cleone at Mill Creek Drive will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1OA

Route 1 (75.4/76.1) – Emergency work south of Westport from the Blues Beach Trailhead to the Overlook will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1TA

Route 1 (104.9/105.5) – Emergency work in Leggett from Jct Route 271 to the South Fork Eel River Bridge continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1UA

Route 20 (39.6/44.1) – Utility work form the Cold Creek Bridge to the Lake County Line continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C20OA

U.S. 101 (33.7/43.2) – Road work south of Willits from Route 20 to Uva Drive in Redwood Valley will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#M101QD

Route 128 (48.4/50.9) – Tree work from Mountain House Road to the Sonoma County Line will occur on Monday, January 22. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P128AA

Route 162 (11/12.6) – Road work south of Dos Rios near the Rodeo Creek Bridge continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 3 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#C162IA

Thank you for posting this.

Those of us who depend on Partnership Healthcare for transportation to the coast for medical appointments should be familiar with these delays.

Often, rookie drivers, or those not familiar with our terrain, might underestimate the time needed.

It’s good to be proactive and let them know about delays so you will be on time.
