How sad, just a couple of days past Christmas. My sincere condolences to the family’s and
friends that perished in that accident. Thank you to the first responders for your upsetting work at the scene.

That road is deadly. I avoid driving on it as much as possible. Hwy 20 from Willits to the coast is much safer. Not sure why but I have my ideas.
This report is so very sad, condolences to friends and loved ones.

Currently, the maximum speed on two-lane State roads is 55mph. Perhaps it should be reduced to 50mph.

No, that’s not enough. Make the speed limit 5 MPH. hardly anybody would be killed. All accidents would be minor. A person would not even be injured in a head-on collision.

I am surprised the our lawmakers haven’t figured this out. The world needs more great thinkers like us Anonymous!

That wouldn’t work either stupid is stupid does hardly anyone does the posted speed limit now if it’s 55 people do 65 or 70 if it’s 40 people do 60 or 65 until inconsiderate people figure out that they are the problem it will continue I’ve had 4 people killed by on the roads in northern California so I think about when I’m driving wish everyone else would they think o it will never happen to me until they kill someone and have to live with it because it’s never the stupid people that die 9 out of 10 it’s the innocent so everyone reading this please think of that when you’re out and about and a few minutes late maybe leave a few minutes early

Good points, Bulldog. I’m sorry for your losses. But as for people leaving earlier to avoid being late – I think a lot of them are not driving fast because they are late getting somewhere. They’re driving fast because they *can*, and they like it, they like feeling powerful (stupid, I know), and there’s nothing and no one stopping them. Unconscious of the fact that they are behind the wheel of 3800 lb. killing machine.

I agree. And it needs to be enforced. 55 on that road is just too fast, but people ride your ass if you aren’t going that speed or faster. The tailgating is insane, even with all the pullouts.

RIP Lisa 🙁 She was a good woman with a good heart who had dedicated her life to helping children. I know nothing about the other party but I feel for them as well…what a tragedy, especially around this time of the year… Please everyone drive safely, use your brain, and focus EVERY TIME you get in the car. And make sure you tell your friends & family you love them as often as possible, you never know what could happen.
